Boston Advances to NBA Finals
Court Unveiled at Beginning of Season
The Boston Celtics have advanced to the NBA Finals once again, and the team's court now features a large number 6 painted on it in honor of Celtics legend Bill Russell, who passed away on July 31, 2022.
The number 6 was Russell's jersey number throughout his 13-year NBA career, during which he won 11 NBA championships with the Celtics. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
The Celtics unveiled the new court design at the beginning of the 2022-23 season, and the number 6 has been a prominent feature on the team's jerseys throughout the playoffs.
